Late Applications for September 2026 Entry
The national closing date for primary school applications was 15 January 2026. If you have not yet applied for a school place for your child, please follow the guidance below based on the current date.
How to apply
-
Online: You can apply via eAdmissions until 18 August 2026.
-
Paper: You can request a paper form from the Surrey Schools and Childcare Service until 31 August 2026.
Key Deadlines & Timelines
-
Applications sent by 12 February 2026: If you have a genuine reason for applying late (e.g., a house move), you must provide written evidence. If accepted, your application may still be treated as "on-time."
-
Applications sent after 12 February 2026: These are classified as late. They will only be considered after all on-time applications have been processed. This means it is much less likely that a place will be available at your preferred school.
-
Applications after 16 April 2026: These are added to school waiting lists. At this stage, places are ranked strictly by the school’s admission criteria, not by the date you applied.
-
Summer Applications: If you apply late in the summer term or during the holidays, you may not receive an outcome until the start of the autumn term in September.
From 1 September 2026, the standard application process ends. Any new applications from this date onwards must be made via the In-Year application process.
