School Meals

Freshly prepared, hot, nutritious meals are provided on site daily by our own LEO catering team. The meals meet the food-based and nutrient-based standards for school lunches. Our standards meet the Food for Life Silver Quality Award in recognition of our work in actively using locally sourced, seasonal, quality ingredients.

Free School Meals

From the start of the 2026/2027 academic year the DfE are planning to introduce new eligibility criteria for Free School Meals, and the following changes will apply:

Depending on your circumstances, your child may qualify to have tasty, healthy school meals for free. It could save you more than £350 a year, and you won't need to worry about making packed lunches every day. Schools receive vital funding for their Free School Meals pupils and even if you decide not to have the meals, we still receive an allocation in our Pupil Premium funding. Pupil Premium is additional funding given to schools so that they can support their disadvantaged pupils and close the attainment gap between them and their peers.

There will be a targeted FSM entitlement for families in receipt of, Universal credit (provided they have a household income of no more that £7,400), or the guaranteed element of the Pension Credit, or support under part VI of the immigration and Asylum Act 1999

  • There will be an expanded FSM entitlement for family’s receiving Universal Credit with a household income of over £7,400 a year

  • Transitional protection will end – this means those children who have been receiving Free School Meals who no longer qualify under the above benefits will stop receiving these

  • All Free School Meal eligibility must be rechecked annually – this will take place in the June to September period
